Author: An He Jie, taken in Inner Mongolia, He Feng Xin Hua Street market)
On the outskirts of Mongolia, warm spring has suddenly turned cold again. One morning in April, snowflakes fell from the sky. A little boy seated on the vegetable cart of a middle aged man. The boy was protected from the cold by the quilt meant to keep the vegetables from being frost bitten. The father would pull the quilt and tuck his son in from time to time.
Author says: The combination of the gloomy background and the dancing snowflakes. The soft flushed face of the son and the weathered face of the father have set a contrast. Both father and son faces the tough reality of life, especially so when the father has to hawk his wares. The deep facial expression moves one's heart, sending quivers into the soul.
This father and son live a carefree life in the slumps, in the mountainous regions. And all they wish for, is a piece of land they can call their own.
Perhaps they'll never get to know what the world beyond them is like
They have never climbed stairs, never took a taxi or MRT, and never been into a movie theater. But it's that very down-to-earth diligence in them that has provided for us generations on. There is no way to repay that gratitude.
Love them, or least respect them emotionally. Else, what more humanity do we need to talk about?
。。 most of our children here hate school ,found that studying took away most of their fun time ,look at all these poor village children ,no chance to get into school because of poor...
some children may found very happy here as no schooling is required...is this heaven here?no knowledge ,you cant even know that you are in the hell...
。。 this old man is crying..why?because their children got chance to study!
。。 if you cant figure out what is happening...wait till you grown up you will know...
Your aged mother, and your children are waiting for you to bring the bread and butter home…
CRYING OLDMAN>
Because he was an illegal hawker, this old man who sells roasted sweet potatoes, had his tricycle destroyed. The chain was cut, and the other tools of the trade were also confiscated by the authorities. The old man sobs: How am I to get past tomorrow…?!
MOTHER LOVE>
同樣都是孩子…………they all both are kids...
這就是生活……this is life..
Wang Zhi Zhong, 17 years old A basket of coal, 40kgs, climbs 100 meters up a coal pit, then walks another 1 kilometer, just to make 1RMB.
Perhaps there may not be roses, or a ring, but…
If that's not love…?
Then what else in this world can be considered love???

omg..
the pix are very sad..
。。Such heart-wrenching pictures and stories.
Indeed, we are such fortunate people...
In every society, there are always people living in poverty.Ever seen a cleaner couple with their two kids lying down on a mat studying outside a public toilet as if that was their house living room many years ago.People walked in and out of the toilet wander whether they ever noticed these two kids sudying under the dim light. Help our fellow singaporean if we can.
If you see too much of this stuff, it will make you cry... Even though sometimes its necessary to have a look at such sources in order for us to grasp the situation around the world, they are mostly overlooked by most people, who still live behind the facade of our modern society. We live in such a modern world and yet there are still many people out there suffering... Pretty ironic isn't it?
Your pictures makes me sad even though they are meaningful and tells stories of their own in each and everyone of them... I guessed we're lucky to be living in a modern and developed society whereby hardly anybody has to suffer or find it hard to make a living...

Your eye for details are undistputable. As I said earlier, these pics and stories are so heart-wrenching. Just like the way you captured our hearts with yr
Such is life, indeed. Such is love... Touching...

I love this post.
There is a soft spot in my heart to do something for the poor and needy of the world.
Although I know there is only so much I can do and my contribution might not be significant, I will do what I can.
Will be going to Myanmar at the end of this year to visit our Church's work among the orphanages in Yangon.
These chidren have stories of their own too.
We must make a difference in the world through what we can do.
I almost had tears in my eyes.. Sometimes I really hated studying, thinking what am I doing here...
Most people need constant reminder of how fortunate they are. Being pampered and protected from the harshness of life all the time, one really don't know what the real world is like outside.
Thanks for the reminder, Jack!
Reading your blogs is like reading a knowlege book..
You are great..
thanks for all this photos. without sadness no one will realise happiness..
hope all this pics can be send to everyone of the pple out there.!
cheers!
